Ana Argento, a creator of graphic novels with a personal history of broken relationships, meets two other bizarre characters in the morgue: Daniel Torres is a coroner with a bent for necrophilia; Tom is a cataleptic life insurance salesman. The dark secret behind our mortician and his lust for the cadaver involves his “method” that borrows from Haitian voodoo priests and a fresh supply of blowfish. He is clearly not a very nice man, but his neuroses and the comical intermingling of characters (including his mother and his psychologist) is wacky and well-written. MORGUE STORY is a phenomenal low budget film that pays hilarious homage to 1980’s horror flicks. The humor is served rare—dripping, in fact—and the dialogue is potential cult classic material. MORGUE STORY é uma comédia brasileira ao mesmo tempo doente e construída com precisão. Ana Argento, a criadora de graphic novels com um histórico de relacionamentos partidos, encontra outros dois personagens bizarros no morgue. Daniel Torres é um médico legista com uma tendência a necrofilia; Tom é um vendedor de seguros de vida  cataléptico. O segredo escuro  por trás de nosso legista e seu desejo por cadáveres envolve um “método” que empresta técnicas de sacerdotes vudu e um suprimento fresco de baiacus. Ele certamente não é um homem de bem, mas suas neuroses e o entrelaçamento cômico de  de personagens (incluindo a sua mãe e o seu psicólogo) é louca e bem escrita. MORGUE STORY  é um filme de baixo orçamento fenomenal que presta homenagem a filmes de horror dos anos 80.  O humor é servido cru - na verdade, pingando - e o diálogo material para um potencial clássico cult. A peça já era boa, mas o filme ficou ainda melhor. (...) O diretor Paulo Biscaia Filho e a Companhia Vigor Mortis realizaram uma obra que faltava para a cinematografia nacional: um filme pop, daqueles apreciados por fãs do diretor Quentin Tarantino, do cinema independente mundial e das comédias de humor negro com um teor trash.

The play was good, but the movie is even better. Director Paulo Biscaia Filho and the Vigor Mortis troupe produced the missing oeuvre for the brazilian film history: a pop movie, like those appreciated by Quentin Tarantino fans, by fans of world indie movies and by fans of dark humor with a bit of trash movie charm.
